Jeremiah 46:27 “My people, do not be afraid, people of Israel, do not be terrified. I will rescue you from that faraway land, from the land where you are prisoners. You will come back home and live in peace; you will be secure and no one will make you afraid.” (TEV)

We should be so delighted when we read this Scripture from the Old Testament! What a declaration that the Lord will save His people. I see application here for two different groups of people. First, I think those of us who unintentionally wander away from our Lord, who suddenly find ourselves prisoners to undesirable behaviors, can find comfort in the fact that God will bring us back to Him. Yes, we must actively reach out to our Savior for that support, but He will bring us home. I also think there is a group of people out there who have been taken away from the arms of God against their will who should know that our Lord has promised to rescue them. We know that we can rest on the promises of God. Don’t ever give up! Know that God is coming!
