July 16, 2016

I so enjoy summer for so many different reasons.   But one of my favorite things about July is the abundant goodies that come from everyone's gardens and orchards.    I love a warm ripe tomato right out of the garden.   And hot, buttery, corn on the cob.   And fresh green beans with onion and ham.   Yummy!   And peaches!   Oh how I enjoy a drippy, sweet,  fresh peach.  God has blessed us with so many delicious garden treats!   God has filled us up with fruits of the spirit as well.   You know the scripture:  Galations 5:22-23 (ESV)  "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law."  That sweet peach is dull and bitter next to these fruits.  Why, then, do we not crave them in the same way?   Friends, let's find that Holy Spirit in our souls and allow Him to bring out the fruits of the Spirit in each of us so that others will see God shining through our lives and want what we have!    The master Gardener has filled us with the best produce of all.    Let's fill our baskets and then start sharing!
