July 1, 2016

We have had Vacation Bible School at our church this week and the final program was last night.  The children all invited their families to come to see what we have learned this week.   The kiddos sang Bible school songs and proudly shared their collections for the mission and what they have talked about in lessons this week.  It was a great evening but I was mostly struck by the way the children shared their faith with all of us in the audience.    The kiddos were excited and happy and had so much fun talking about Jesus.    Their enthusiasm was contagious and everyone seemed to enjoy the event.   I so wish that adults could approach every "Jesus" event in such an uninhibited way.   I see why Jesus tellls us to have a child like faith.    These kids really know how to praise God!   Mark 10:13 - 16 reads, "Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples scolded the people.  When Jesus noticed this, he was angry and said to his disciples, "Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the kindgom of God belongs to such as these.  I assure you that whoever does not receive the kidgom of God like a child will never enter it."  Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them."  (TEV)  Oh Father, let us all come to you like a child!
