Romans 15:5-6 May the God of endurance and encouragement
grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ
Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Unity is a glorious thing! Did you
notice in the above Scripture that we are not only to live in harmony with each
other, but also in accord with Christ Jesus. I think that is the key to
getting along with one another. Without Christ in the center of the
relationships, we will not be unified.
Then when we do come together as one voice
- we are to glorify God, the Father. This is such a beautiful idea; why
is it so hard for us to do? I think generally it is all about pride.
We want to think we are right in our thinking and our way is the only
way. To act humbly is to come together as one, the true Body of Christ.
