II Samuel 23:2 "The Spirit of the LORD speaks to me;
his word is on my tongue."
These are some of the last words of David.
It struck me, when I read this, that I hope I can say the same. I
know the Lord speaks to me, but sometimes I am not listening. Sometimes I
am too busy talking to hear what the Lord is saying.
The rest of the Scripture that says -
"his word is on my tongue" is also something I long to
truthfully say. I want the Word of God to be on my tongue. I want
to speak it to others. I want to talk about it with friends.
Lord, I pray You will speak to me, and I
will have ears to hear. I also pray that Your Word will be so familiar to
me that it is always on my tongue.
