Psalm 10:1 Why, O LORD do you stand far away? Why do
you hide yourself in times of trouble? (ESV)
When I read this verse I tend to focus on
the hopelessness of the situation, until I think through it. First, I
know that the Lord doesn't hide from us. Secondly, whenever I have felt this
way, I have found out that it was I who distanced myself from God, rather than
the other way around. Finally, as we think about the above verse, we see
that actually it sounds like the psalmist is more concerned about where God is
than his current situation, which can be a good thing. Whenever we are
looking for God, He promises to be found.
