Psalm 46:1-3 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, thought the mountains tremble at its swelling."  Oh friends, this scripture promises us that the people of God are secure - even in the midst of terrible upheaval.  What a blessing!   Our everyday lives feel like they are full of problems sometimes.    We have bills to pay, illness to content with, relationship stuff, depression, and addictions.    Our world can be full of moving mountains and roaring waters.   But we only have to turn to God to find refuge and strength!  These words remind us that he is only a distress call away and He longs to save us from ourselves and our world.   Thank you, God, for your promises and your goodness.   Lift us out of this earthly trouble and show us your strength!
