September 18, 2016

Once again I turn to the Psalms in my moments of distress.   I am wallowing in a season of stress and emotional unrest.    I feel as if I have way too much to do and so little time to get it all done.   I feel tired and grumpy.   I feel very far away from God.   Then this evening I opened my Bible and God said to me through scripture, "I am the only One you need right now.  Rest in me".   What a great comfort!  My Father in heaven clearly saw my anguish and He provided me with the perfect words to calm and restore me.   Psalms 121:  "I lift up my eyes to the hills.   From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.  Behold, he who keeps Israel will  neither slumber or sleep.  The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.  The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.  The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.  The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore."      Thank you, Father, for loving me even when I am a bit unlovable.
