I had a discussion this week with a friend regarding why it is not popular in our present cultue to admit to fearing the Lord.  Americans pride themselves in being their own person and not answering to anyone.   We are so full of ourselves that we believe we can handle anything and we have the right to behave in any manner we wish.  We do not like to bow to any authority and often go so far as to avoid any situation that might put us in a submissive position.  We don't even take God seriously in this regard!   It seems that we don't trust Him enough to believe that He will do what He says He will do.  Friends, we must stop this right now and allow ourselves to be immersed in God's word and His will so that we might find eternity by His side.  True wisdom is found when we willingly submit our will and agenda to the One who loves us unconditionally.   Proverbs 1:7 reads, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."Let's not be fools!    Let's fear the Lord!
