August 15, 2016

In Sunday School we have been studying how to listen to the voice of God and we sure have had some lively discussions.  It is difficult to sit and wait for the Lord to speak.   Then what happens if He does speak and we mistake His voice for someone else's like Eli did in the Old Testament.   Or what if He speaks to use and we don't want to hear the message?   There is so much to consider when we begin to realize that hearing the voice of God is a gift but also a responsibility.   We must listen for the voice of God as if our very life depends upon it.    In 1 Samuel we read that God spoke to Samuel and Samuel replied "Speak for your servant hears."  (1Samuel 3:10)  I want to be like that.    I want to be the servant that hears.
