Nehemiah 8:3 He (Ezra) read it (the Word of God) aloud from
daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence
of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people
listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
This is AMAZING to me! These people
were hungry for the word. Did you notice that this Bible Study went from
daybreak until noon? Wow! Did you notice the people listened
attentively?
How many of our churches are dwindling in
attendance? How many of those who do come complain if the sermon is too
long (over 17 1/2 minutes)? How many of those who come are attentive?
I don't mean to be a pessimist, but what
on earth has happened to God/s people?
This week make it a point to tell your
pastor you appreciate his/her diligence in sharing the Word of God. At
the very least stay awake during the sermon.
