As I look at this verse, I think the latter half is not possible without the former being true. To live in harmony is a lofty goal; however, that is exactly what God would expect of His children. I think we get confused and think we have to all agree, but that is not what this says. We just need to get along. Being on vacation with our best friends in a small cabin in the north woods - presents its own set of problems, but thank goodness we can live in harmony - for a week.
It takes work, but when it happens the effect glorifies God. The next time you are challenged to have to get along with someone not of your thinking, or perhaps lifestyle.... consider the option to glorify God rather than have your own way.
