Numbers 9:9 A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of
the (red) heifer and put them in a ceremonially clean place outside the camp.
They shall be kept by the Israelite community for use in the water of
cleansing; it is for purification from sin.
In the Old Testament the Lord designated
the ashes of a red heifer, without defect or blemish, to be used in the water
of cleansing for the purpose of purification of sin. Did you catch that
the heifer was killed before the sins were committed? In other words the
debt of sin had been paid before the sins occurred.
Doesn't this remind you of our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ? He, too, shed His blood long before any of you, who
are reading this, committed your sins. It reminds me of the song in which
we sing: " He paid a debt He did not owe. I owed a debt I could not
pay." To make it even better - the Scriptures promise us that it is
as if we had never sinned at all. He not only forgives, but forgets.
Hallelujah!!!!
