Joshua 21:45 Not one of all the LORD's good
promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
Did you notice the words - not one and
every one? That is really saying something that not one single promise
was broken, and every single one came about as the Lord had said. That is our
God. He is the great Promise Keeper. He never says anything that He
doesn't mean or that will not come about just as He planned.
What does all this mean in the life of the
believer? It means that He is one we can always count on. When He
says He will never leave us nor forsake us, we can rest assured that will be the
case. The Bible is full of God's promises to His people. It would
behoove us to get into the Word and take special notice of God's promises.
I like to keep a log and also underline in green all the promises I run
into.
Make sure that once you see the
fulfillment of His promise that you thank Him. It is also good to record
them in a gratitude journal. It will be a real source of encouragement.
In a world where breaking promises is becoming more and more prevalent,
it is good to know God doesn't change. He kept His promises to the
Israelites, and He is still keeping His promises to His people.
