Psalm 74:16 -17 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task; until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I discerned their end.
You really need to read the entire Psalm
to get the full picture, but this verse is the pivotal one. Prior to
this, the psalmist is contemplating why the wicked seem to prosper. The
first 15 verses show how distorted our viewpoint can become as we focus on
situations rather than God and His goodness.
As this verse indicates, it is only after
one goes into the very presence of God and sees things from His perspective, that
he/she sees things clearly. In this case it has to do with how the evil
come to an end, but this is also true in everything.
It is in God's word, in prayer, and in
Christian fellowship that we can get a grasp on God's perspective on
situations. Take time to seek the Lord as you go through the day. Ask Him
to let you see others through His eyes of love. It is only when we see
people and situations through His eyes that we are able to love and serve
others. Give it a try!
