I just got home from an interesting discussion at our church book club. We meet once a month to discuss a particular title; sometimes fiction, sometimes non-fiction. This month we read a particularly provocative book that made me really need to delve into scripture to find some answers. I love it when I am challenged in that way. I like to dig deep into God's word to find His treasures. Sadly, I am not disciplined enough to just read the Bible for the sake of reading it. However, I know this about myself so I am constantly finding reasons to do Bible study. Attending small group is one way I encourage myself to stay in the Word. Teaching Sunday school is another, as well as our book club meetings. There are a million other ways to motivate yourself to read and study the Word of God. The Bible is the most important book we will ever read so find a reason to do so! In Psalm 119:18 we read "Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of your law." Friend we can't behold those wondrous things if we never open the book!
